When meditation doesn't work
I touched on this topic before here. But I don’t think I portrayed how tough it is to separate “being anxious” from “acknowledging anxiety”. And that’s why meditation is a lifetime practice. So what am I left to do when anxious? I have tried many things throughout the years. Reading, playing video games, watching a movie, going for a walk, listening to music. None of this works. The mind is stuck in an infinite loop. So far I have only found one thing that fixes the problem: interval training. Run as fast as I can for two minutes and then rest for one minute. Repeat this 8 or 12 times. This works. Anxiety vanishes.
