There’s something quite appealing about simple things. I found this to be true in many aspects of life. When it comes to sports, the simplest ones are the ones that attract me the most. One is running, where you don’t need much to get going, but you are also not dependent on anyone besides yourself. The other one more recently is yoga. It’s very similar to running in terms of the gear you need to get started. But not just that, any person of any ability can do it and slowly build up until they are quite proficient at it. Meditation to me is the apex. Conceptually it’s probably the simplest to understand, but one of the hardest to be good at. I am deeply attracted to sports that are repetitive in nature. Where each new iteration is an attempt to improve the previous one.
