Talk show?

I have lately binged too much on Youtube shorts. Something that is often recommended are talk shows with Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon. I have entertained such recommendations and spent a few minutes watching them. It’s baffling how bad the format is compared to things like Joe Rogan or Lex Fridman. On one hand, the hosts are mostly trying to entertain the audience, rather than listening to what the guest is saying. It’s common for Conan or Jimmy to insert a joke while the guest is talking, just to get a quick laugh. It’s quite irritating, because your mind is now thinking about the joke, and not about what the guest was trying to say. Beyond that, the exchanges are generally shallow and there isn’t much room to explore topics. Compare this to a typical Joe Rogan show, where you can have a guest talking for 20 minutes straight - uninterrupted. It’s formidable how shows in the format of Conan’s or Jimmy’s still exist.
